"An orange rose is for the spark of romance and the fire of love; it is the kindling of each dawn and the glowing ember of sunset.”

List of words I had to use: donut, dish, paper, radar, pan, brick, mark, pen, chair, plane, light, wind

Donuts and Diamonds

It was an ordinary, two donut day.  I was at my desk typing up a homicide report when this dish walked through the door.  I felt like I was hit by a brick.  I let my eyes pan up and down that dame’s legs as she gracefully sank into the chair across from me.  Our eyes met.  I could sense she was no good but I never could stay away from trouble.  I didn’t want her to know that she had left her mark so I casually picked up my pen and pulled out some paper.

“What can I do for you?” I asked, my radar picking up all the signs of a lady in distress.

She brushed some windswept strands of her light hair back.

No need.  She already had my full attention.

“I want you to find a lost plane,” she said.  “The one I wrecked with two million in diamonds aboard.”

I looked at her again, thinking that she was a diamond herself and I wasn’t about to lose her.  It was plain to see I’d need some coffee to go with those donuts.
